Connecting Stripe: what it asks for

Fieldsmith takes payments through Stripe. Connecting means filling in a form on Stripe's site with your business details and the bank account you want money to land in. It takes about ten minutes.

What it asks for

Your legal business details and the bank account for payouts. Stripe has to ask. It's a regulated payment processor, and the same questions come up with any of them.

You'll be on Stripe's own pages for this part, not ours. When you're done it sends you back.

  1. Open Settings → Payments.
  2. Start the payment setup.
  3. Fill in your business details and bank account on Stripe's site.
  4. Come back to Fieldsmith.

Your first payout takes a week

New accounts hold payouts for seven days before the first one lands. That's a fraud control, not a problem with your account. It's a window in which a stolen card charge can be caught before the money has left.

After that it settles into a normal schedule, which you can change.

If you stop halfway

You can leave and come back. Stripe keeps what you've filled in, and Fieldsmith will show payments as still needing setup until it's finished.
