HelpPayments and money
What Fieldsmith's payment fees are
When a customer pays an invoice, Fieldsmith takes one fee: 3.2% plus 30¢ on a card payment, or 1% capped at $20 on a bank payment. That's the whole number. There's nothing added on top of it afterwards.
What it works out to
A $200 job paid by card costs $6.70. The same job paid from a bank account costs $2.
A $3,000 job paid by card costs $96.30. Paid from a bank account it's capped at $20, because 1% of $3,000 would be $30 and the cap stops it there.
One fee, not two
The rate above is everything. You won't find a separate processing charge on your statement afterwards. The card network's cost is already inside that number, on our side.
It comes out of the payment, so what lands in your bank is the invoice total minus the fee.
The cap is why bank payments matter on big jobs
On small invoices the difference is a few dollars. On a $5,000 job it's the difference between $160.30 and $20, because the bank fee stops climbing at $20 and the card fee doesn't.
If you do large jobs, it's worth telling customers they can pay from their bank.
