Which price ends up on the invoice

Work that came from a signed proposal bills at the signed price. Your usual pricing doesn't apply to it, and the number isn't worked out again when you invoice.

Why it works this way

The customer agreed to a number. If a job that took longer than expected quietly billed more, the signature would be worth nothing.

Split across several jobs

If you split a proposal into several visits, each one bills its own share, and the total across them is what was signed. A second visit bills what's left, never the whole amount again.

The deposit

Anything already paid as a deposit comes off. What's billed is the signed price minus what they've handed over.
