Setting up your business details
Settings → Business is where your business name, phone number, and address live. These aren't just for your records. They print on every invoice and proposal your customers get, so it's worth doing early.
What to fill in
Your business name and phone number are what a customer sees when an invoice lands in their inbox. If the phone number is wrong, they can't call you about a bill.
Your address matters for two reasons: it appears on invoices, and Fieldsmith uses where you operate to work out drive times between jobs.
Do this before your first invoice
An invoice with no phone number on it looks like spam. Five minutes here saves a customer asking whether the bill is real.
- Open Settings → Business.
- Fill in your business name, phone, and address.
- Save.
