Sending a proposal for signature
Sending a proposal gives your customer a link. They open it, read the quote, and sign online. No account, no app, no printer.
You can see when they've looked
A proposal moves from sent to viewed the first time it's opened. That's the difference between someone thinking about it and someone who never got it, which is exactly what you want to know before chasing.
If it goes quiet
Sent but never viewed usually means an email problem: wrong address, or spam. Viewed but not signed is a decision, and that's a phone call rather than another email.
Changing one after sending
If you edit a proposal after sending it, a customer sitting on the old version can't sign the stale one. They'll be told it changed rather than signing something you've moved on from.
