Jobber's $49 Core plan leaves out QuickBooks sync, time tracking, and automated reminders, which start at $139 a month. It also sells add-ons from $29 to $99 a month. One subscription, everything included

Fieldsmith's plans are priced by the size of your team, not by which features you're allowed to use. Solo is $49 a month ($39 billed annually); when you hire, Crew is $99 a month for up to 10 people. There are no add-ons to buy, so the price you sign up at is the price you pay.

Jobber's $49 Core plan is a starting point. Automated reminders, quote and invoice follow-ups, QuickBooks Online sync, and time tracking start on Connect at $139 a month. Two-way texting and job costing start on Grow at $199 a month. Marketing tools, an AI receptionist, and a sales pipeline are separate monthly add-ons.

Built with the people using it

Every note sent from the feedback button in Fieldsmith goes straight to the team that builds the product. Requests from early customers have shipped in days, not quarters.

There are no upsell calls, because there is nothing to upsell. Setup is guided by the team that builds Fieldsmith.

Getting paid: where the fees differ

Card fees favor Jobber. On a $300 lawn job paid by card, Jobber's 2.9% + 30¢ comes to $9.00 and Fieldsmith's 3.2% + 30¢ comes to $9.90. Jobber also offers tap to pay on your phone at 2.7% + 30¢.

Bank transfers favor Fieldsmith on big jobs. Fieldsmith charges 1% capped at $20, so a $4,000 install paid by bank costs $20. Jobber lists bank payments at 1%; we did not find a cap on its pricing page, which would make the same payment $40.

Fieldsmith also prints your Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, and Zelle handles on the invoice with a code the customer can scan. Many small-trade customers already pay that way, and those payments carry no Fieldsmith fee.

The phone: two different ideas of mobile

Jobber has mature iPhone and Android apps with offline access and location-based timers. If your crew carries Android phones, that alone decides it.

Fieldsmith is built around the iPhone lock screen. On a day with jobs, a live card shows your next stop (customer, time, address) and moves on as you finish each one. Home- and lock-screen widgets answer where you're going next, how many jobs are left, and who still owes you.

Which one to pick

  • Pick Jobber if you need an Android app or QuickBooks sync and are ready for the $139-a-month Connect plan, or if card fees on small jobs are your deciding factor.
  • Pick Fieldsmith if you want one price with every feature included, work from an iPhone, take a lot of Venmo or Zelle, or bill large jobs by bank transfer.
