How to Run Your Service Business From Claude or ChatGPT (2026): Which Field-Service Apps Have Connectors

By Fieldsmith · Published October 12, 2026

As of October 2026, four of the five field-service apps we checked publish an official connector for an AI assistant. Jobber and ServiceM8 work in Claude and ChatGPT. QuoteIQ names Claude, ChatGPT and Grok. Fieldsmith supports Claude. We did not find a connector on Housecall Pro's site. They differ in what the assistant may change: Jobber's cannot create or edit jobs or invoices, while Fieldsmith's can book and move jobs and create, send and mark invoices paid.

Key takeaways

  • Jobber, ServiceM8, QuoteIQ and Fieldsmith each publish an official connector built on MCP, the open standard assistants use to reach other apps.
  • Jobber, ServiceM8 and QuoteIQ all name ChatGPT as well as Claude. Fieldsmith supports Claude.
  • Jobber's connector can look up invoices and jobs but cannot create or edit them, and it cannot change the schedule.
  • QuoteIQ advertises the most actions (224) and holds every change for your approval by default.
  • We did not find an official connector on Housecall Pro's site. Its API is for the MAX plan and needs a developer.

Side by side

A connector lets an assistant like Claude or ChatGPT read your real schedule, customers and invoices, and act on them when you ask. Everything in this table comes from each company's own public pages, fetched on October 12, 2026. Where a page was silent, we say so.

Jobber: both assistants, mostly for looking things up

Jobber's help article, updated October 1, 2026, covers Claude and ChatGPT and says the free plans of both work. You install it from Jobber's App Marketplace on any Core, Connect, Grow or Plus plan, then choose which tools the assistant may use.

It can search clients, properties, requests, quotes, jobs and invoices. It can create or edit requests, clients and properties, and it can create a quote. Jobber says it cannot create or edit jobs or invoices, delete or archive a record, or add, edit or remove items on your schedule.

One more thing from the same page: Jobber blocks the browser tools built into Claude and ChatGPT from signing in. The connector is the supported way in.

ServiceM8: strong on jobs and messages

ServiceM8's help page describes an approved ServiceM8 plugin in ChatGPT and a custom connector in Claude. On Claude Team and Enterprise, an owner adds it for the organization before each person connects.

The listed actions are about the job: search clients and jobs, read job notes and activity, check staff availability, create jobs from templates, schedule them, send them to a queue, change their status, and write and send emails and texts linked to a job. We did not find invoices or payments in that list.

The page says the assistant may ask you to confirm an action before it runs, depending on your permissions and workspace settings.

QuoteIQ: the longest list, and approval by default

QuoteIQ says its connector works with Claude, ChatGPT and Grok and lists 224 tools across more than 20 areas of the business, up from 134 when it launched in September 2026. It says the connector is included on every plan from $29.99 a month, with some tools kept for higher plans.

By default every change shows up in QuoteIQ as "Needs your approval" and nothing is written until you approve it in the app. Sending an estimate, invoice, email or text, and charging a saved payment method, always ask for confirmation. Deletes are not available through the connector. QuoteIQ says only the account owner can connect an assistant.

Its September update described the connector as live for early testing on the web app and not yet in the mobile builds, so check what is live on your plan.

Fieldsmith: the daily loop, with you in the middle

Fieldsmith's connector is supported in Claude. You copy one address from Settings, Advanced, add it as a custom connector in Claude on the web or the mobile app, sign in once and approve what it may do. You can cut it off in the same place.

It covers the questions an owner asks from the truck. What's on today. Who owes me money. Then it acts: book a job, push the Lopez mow to Friday, mark a job done, create the invoice, email it, record that Garcia paid cash, log an expense. Marking a job done behaves the way it does in the app, so a recurring job books its next visit.

By default Claude checks with you before it changes anything, and an invoice goes to a customer only after you have seen a preview of it. Money stays with you: the connector cannot make payouts or issue refunds. It can write a draft proposal, and sending one is done in the app.

It comes with the subscription. Fieldsmith is one subscription with every feature included and no paid add-ons, and plans differ by team size. Every note from the in-app feedback button goes straight to the team that builds Fieldsmith.

Housecall Pro: built-in AI, no connector we could find

We did not find a Claude or ChatGPT connector on Housecall Pro's site. Its page for AI engines and its integrations list do not mention one.

What it does have is its own AI Team inside the product, including a customer service rep AI that answers calls and books jobs. It also has an API, which its help page says is for the MAX plan and needs a developer you hire, because Housecall Pro does not build or maintain custom integrations.

Which one to pick

  • Pick Jobber if you already run on it and mostly want to ask questions and add clients or requests from Claude or ChatGPT, including on a free assistant plan.
  • Pick ServiceM8 if you want the assistant to schedule jobs and text or email customers about them, and you use ChatGPT.
  • Pick QuoteIQ if you want the widest set of actions, ChatGPT or Grok support, and an approval queue inside the app.
  • Pick Housecall Pro if its built-in AI Team is what you are after and you do not need an outside assistant.
  • Pick Fieldsmith if you use Claude and want it to handle jobs and invoices end to end, from booking to marked paid, at one price with every feature included.

Frequently asked questions

Which field-service apps work with ChatGPT?

As of October 2026, Jobber, ServiceM8 and QuoteIQ each name ChatGPT on their own pages. Jobber offers a ChatGPT connector in its App Marketplace, ServiceM8 has an approved plugin in ChatGPT, and QuoteIQ gives you a connector link to add. Fieldsmith's connector is supported in Claude. We did not find a ChatGPT connector on Housecall Pro's site.

Which field-service apps work with Claude?

Fieldsmith, Jobber, ServiceM8 and QuoteIQ all publish a connector you can add to Claude. They differ in what Claude may change. Jobber's cannot create or edit jobs or invoices. ServiceM8's centers on jobs, scheduling and job messages. QuoteIQ's and Fieldsmith's both reach invoices.

Can an AI assistant send an invoice to my customer on its own?

It depends on the app. In Fieldsmith an invoice goes out only after you have seen a preview. QuoteIQ says sending an estimate, invoice, email or text always asks for confirmation. ServiceM8 says the assistant may ask you to confirm, depending on your settings. Jobber's connector cannot create or edit invoices at all.

Can the assistant move my money?

Not in Fieldsmith. The connector cannot make payouts, issue refunds or change your payout schedule. It can tell you what you are owed and record a payment you already received. QuoteIQ lists charging a saved payment method as an action that always asks for confirmation. Check each company's page before you connect.

What is MCP?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard that lets an AI assistant connect to another app, sign in as you, and use a fixed list of actions that app allows. All four connectors in this article are built on it.

How do I get started with Fieldsmith?
